A lamp based on wood veneer produced as part of the product development course at the University of Antwerp. Renders produced in Cinema4D, wood cut with a laser printer. Base of the lamp: ALANG, Ikea. The lamp is intended to fit into a modern interior where geometry is central. The design was based around geometric shapes that fold into each other to form a whole. The structure creates a circular look. Inspiration was drawn from beehives, modern architecture and modern tiling.

CNC Print

After designing the pieces digitally, they were sent to a CNC Printer to be cut in walnut wood veneer. I wanted to make sure the pieces overlap to save material while printing. That is why the pieces were laid out on a grid pattern.
